Look to the skies

🚁Continuing with the topic of drones this week, I found on the Amazon (AMZN) website that they’re piloting a program called PrimeAir (nope! That’s not their cargo planes!). PrimeAir utilizes autonomous aerial vehicles, or drones to safely deliver packages to customers in 30 minutes or less! How cool. In light of my reservations around drones, this innovation is highly convenient for customers and employees alike. Essentially, it is ensuring packages get delivered without tasking a human to personally deliver it, or to monitor status.

Believe it or not, technology and automatic features in your trading account can help you place smarter trades without your immediate attention, too! While sitting in front of a screen 9:30am-4pm (market hours) looking at charts and reading financial news sounds like my version of a wonderful day (no joke, I am that big of a nerd!), the reality is, many people simply don’t have the time or interest to do so.

In “Learn to Trade", you’ll hear about my “18 Rules of Trading.” Rule number one in the Jessica Perrone trading playbook is: “Buy low, sell high”. Easier said than done; oftentimes, time doesn’t allow for you to be at your computer or looking at your trading app the moment a buying or selling opportunity arises. A little trick I learned is placing a “limit order.” A limit order is where you can set a price to buy or sell a stock, and the trading platform automatically places the trade for you when the designated stock hits a price that you direct the feature to buy or sell at.

👉 Step 1: Choose Buy/Sell

👉 Step 2: Select “Limit” trade“type”

👉 Step 3: Enter # of shares

👉 Step 4: Type Desired Price

👉 Step 5: Choose GTC (Good until Cancelled) as your expiration.

It’s important to remember these trades don’t always happen immediately. Sometimes it takes an event or news flow to move a stock. But this feature lets you 🐯“Be the crouching Tiger waiting for the right timing to pounce…” 🐯Automated! Without being stuck on your computer!
